Curved plywood coffee table
cod. art. 697
Arabesco is a highly appreciated Italian design product, born from the collaboration between Mollino and the carpenters who used his sketches to create life-scale designs and shapes. Mollino's ingenious idea of inserting the words "holes to be traced in curved wood" into one of the drawings gave life to a visually light, finely crafted, precise and at the same time fluid product, with a balance between the curved and carved contours and the transparency of the glass tops.
The structure is made of curved plywood and veneered in natural or black stained oak, and is fixed to the top via bushings. The upper shelf is made of 10 mm thick tempered glass, while the lower shelf is made of 8 mm thick tempered glass, both fixed with visible latches. The natural oak version is characterized by extra-clear glass, while the black-stained oak version is characterized by smoked gray glass.
Homage to Carlo Mollino - 1949
