The New York collection designed by Sergio Bicego for Saba Italia is expressed in new forms without losing its essence, consisting of a contemporary soul and a timeless spirit. The quilting of the cushions winks at a retro elegance and gives in to the temptation of nostalgia to outline the design of the future. At the same time, the metropolitan allure is enhanced by the hexagonal shape of the structure, which rests on thin feet in customizable steel rod, with a black chrome, polished chrome or white painted finish. New York suite is enveloping and hospitable even in the smaller variants such as the maxi lounge armchair and the 155 cm sofa, which softly welcomes two people and is particularly interesting for the contract system.

Materials: structure in solid honeycomb wood covered with polyurethane foam of different densities and covered with velfodera coupled with resin. The seat suspension is ensured by elastic straps with a polypropylene core.
Feet in drawn wire with a diameter of 16 mm in the following finishes: black nickel, polished chrome and white painting.
Cushions: the back cushions are padded with polyester fibre. the seat cushions are made of polyester fiber with a core of differentiated-density polyurethane foam, covered in pure white cotton fabric. The padding is quilted with a particular technique which allows for easy removable covers.

Born in 1953, he left his classical studies and began, almost by chance, his experience in the upholstered furniture sector. Fascinated by the world around him, he enthusiastically dedicates himself to researching forms and construction techniques which he puts to use in the companies where he works. In 1991 he opened his studio as an independent designer and 1993 was the year he met Saba Italia. New challenges and new stimuli will lead to the birth of the “Nomade Sofa”: Taos, Ananta, Limes, Nesting, Pixel, Avant-Après. Creations that arise from reflection on the new desires that push us to live in a less formal way, equipped with systems that allow us to change with simple gestures, playing with shapes.
