Although teak is such a durable material that it can be stored outdoors over the winter, to preserve the wood's clean aesthetic and prevent winter smog, constant frost, and leaf deposits from creating dark patinas or surface mold, we strongly recommend cleaning the bench in the fall and protecting it with a breathable and waterproof cover, or placing it under a sheltered porch.

If the bench has been exposed to the sun and has developed the characteristic grayish color, it is possible to easily restore the original golden tone.
