Outdoor wall mounting step light, three models
The Bast collection of recessed wall step lights by Redo Group represents the ideal combination of geometric minimalism, the material appeal of concrete, and technical outdoor safety lighting. Designed for recessed wall installation, these spotlights offer asymmetrical emission specifically directed downwards, ideal for flawlessly illuminating pedestrian paths, stairways, outdoor walkways, and residential or commercial access corridors without generating annoying direct glare. The body combines a visible architectural concrete structure – available in refined Ivory or Dark Grey finishes – with internal components in die-cast aluminum painted matte black, protected by a transparent glass diffuser. Thanks to the integrated driver and an IP65 protection rating, the Bast series guarantees maximum weather resistance and easy direct wiring.
The Bast series comes in three aesthetic and geometric variations of the front slit, designed to customize the light pattern on the floor. All models share a gross LED flux of 147 lumens.
| Aesthetic Model | LED Configuration | Power | Source Flux (LED Flux) | Real Flux (System Flux) | Control |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Slot Model | POWER LED XTE CREE (1 pc) | 2.5W | 147 lm | 20 lm (Graphic, accent, and (ultra-shielded) | On/Off |
| Trapezoid Model | POWER LED XTE CREE (1 pc) | 2.5W | 147 lm | 78 lm (Wider, more diffused beam on walkways) | On/Off |
| Oval Model | POWER LED XTE CREE (1 pc) | 2.5W | 147 lm | 65 lm (Soft, rounded, and Balanced) | On/Off |
The Bast series adopts construction solutions designed to withstand the outdoor environment, ensuring a long operating life:
What does "Integrated Driver" mean in the technical data sheet?
It means that the spotlight already includes the electronic power supply. There is no need to purchase separate transformers or prepare remote housings in the electrical panel: the Bast step light connectsIt connects directly and immediately to the standard 220-240V home electrical line, drastically simplifying wall installation.
Why is there such a large difference in "System" Lumens between the slotted model (20 lm) and the trapezoidal model (78 lm) if the internal LED is identical?
The difference is determined exclusively by the geometric shape of the concrete body. The CREE LED chip releases the exact same amount of original light (147 lm) in all three models. However, the "slot" model screens out light more, allowing only a thin, graphic beam of light (20 lm) to pass through, while the wider aperture of the "trapezoid" model allows a much higher amount of real light (78 lm) to be projected onto the floor, ideal if greater illumination is needed on the floor.
Can step lights be installed in areas close to the ground subject to heavy splashes of water or mud?
Yes. Thanks to the IP65 certified protection rating, the fixture is completely protected against dust and perfectly resists direct jets of water (such as those from a garden hose or an automatic irrigation system). Since these are recessed wall models, it is simply recommended to use the appropriate formwork during the masonry work and to ensure proper rear drainage to avoid permanent water stagnation inside the wall recess.
