The shade collection, EMU's best seller, is a family of outdoor coverings created by the EMU Research Center in collaboration with the French designer Christophe Pillet. It is a large and ambitious project, the result of exceptional technological research, capable of developing a system of balances and levers that facilitate the opening and closing phases in an extraordinary way. Technological materials and attractive design for elegant and refined products, ideal for porches, residential verandas, contract environments. Quality, resistance and beauty make these umbrellas the perfect accessories to complete the furnishing of outdoor spaces. The Navona umbrella has an aluminum structure, an acrylic fabric cover and a wide base that provides the necessary stability (the 8 50 x 50 cm tiles to be inserted into the base are not included). The opening and closing of the umbrella is facilitated by the aid of a gas spring which, by acting on a suitable lever system, reduces the force necessary for the opening and closing manoeuvres. The sizing and levers created allow the umbrella to close easily without the need to move tables, as well as the possibility of rotating it on the horizontal plane by 360°. Navona is also equipped with an optional lighting system, consisting of 4 LED bars, a remote control and a control unit. The battery-powered remote control is equipped with the following buttons: on, off, three preset light intensities, choice between warm light and cold light (Kelvin degrees).
An alternative fixing system to the ground is available using a specific kit and other accessories optional such as awnings with weight kit and drainage gutters for coupling multiple umbrellas. There are two sizes available for the Navona umbrella.

Designer: Christophe Pillet

Lucidity of expression and search for simplicity are the main keys to understanding Christophe Pillet's work, in which elegance is always optimised. Pillet's mastery of sensuality and sophistication has earned him global admiration for his hotel and boutique designs, as well as his artistic direction for various works in the United States, Great Britain and Japan. He has obtained international recognition for the versatility and quality of his creations. Architecture, objects, furniture, artistic direction: his signature is always associated with the best brands, from the transformation of the Lancel boutiques in France and in the rest of the world, to the design of the Maison-Blanche restaurant in Fès, up to the creation of the Renault stands for the International Automobile Show. Regardless of their scale, all the projects created by Pillet have the same attitude in common: whether it is the work of design director for Lacoste or the long-term collaborations with Driade, Cappellini and Emu, his interpretations are a testimony of class to high voltage, which stand out for their precision and rigor. If there is a "Pillet style" we could identify it in its ability to crystallize, within a project, the exaltation of thought.
