Design: Giulio Iacchetti
GIULIO IACCHETTI, industrial designer since 1992, designs for various brands, including Abet Laminati, Alessi, Artemide, Danese, Foscarini, Magis, Moleskine. Among his distinctive characteristics is the research and definition of new object typologies such as Moscardino, a multipurpose biodegradable cutlery, designed with Matteo Ragni for Pandora design and awarded in 2001 with the Compasso d’Oro. In 2009 he was awarded the Premio dei Premi for innovation by the President of the Italian Republic for the Eureka Coop project, with which he brought design into large-scale retail trade. In May 2009 the Triennale di Milano hosted his solo exhibition entitled “Giulio Iacchetti. Disobbedient Objects”. Always attentive to the evolution of the relationship between artisanship and design, in November 2012 he launched Internoitaliano, the “widespread factory” made up of many artisan workshops with which he signs and produces furniture and accessories inspired by Italian ways of doing and living. At the same time, he continued his personal research towards new design themes such as that of the cross, which gave rise to the Cruciale exhibition, held at the Museo Diocesano in Milan, in the Basilica of Santo Stefano Rotondo in Rome and at the Castello di Lombardia in Enna, while with the exhibition Razione K, il pasto del soldati in azione, produced by the Triennale di Milano in January 2015, he reflected on the essentiality and planning of anonymous design linked to food. In 2014, he won his second Compasso d’Oro for the Sfera series of manhole covers, designed with Matteo Ragni for Montini.
