Saba Italia New York Armchair

New York is a collection that proudly bears the name of the big apple. Two souls, uptown and downtown, enclosed in a single design object whose entirely interchangeable covering reveals its innate versatility. The unusual and multifaceted ergonomics of the New York armchair invites personal use of the upholstery and the two-tone design, allowing different color solutions through a single choice. The structure is made of iron rod available in multiple chrome and painted finishes.

Structure: in drawn wire with a diameter of 12 mm. the seating surface is in perforated sheet metal, polished chrome or painted finish.

Padding: internal core, seat cushion and back cushion are padded with polyurethane foam and covered with cotton coupled with polyester fibre.

Design: Sergio Bicego. Born in 1953, he left his classical studies and began, almost by chance, his experience in the upholstered furniture sector. Fascinated by the world around him, he enthusiastically dedicates himself to researching forms and construction techniques which he puts to use in the companies where he works. In 1991 he opened his studio as an independent designer and 1993 was the year he met Saba Italia. New challenges and new stimuli will lead to the birth of the “Nomad Sofa”: Taos, Ananta, Limes, Nesting, Pixel. Creations that arise from reflection on the new desires that push us to live in a less formal way, equipped with systems that allow us to change with simple gestures, playing with shapes.Saba Italia is quality, ethics and passion: it was founded in 1988 and since then it has dedicated its design research to the culture of relaxation.
