The Twins coffee table made entirely of 100% FSC teak, simple and natural, is the original result of the interesting design ability of the designer Sebastia Herkner and the know-how of EMU.
Twins stands out for the softness of its shapes which make the table elegant and with a strong visual impact. The teak used is grade A, which complies with very rigorous aesthetic requirements, and is more functional in particularly hot environments and climates, which favor the use of products that do not have metal in contact with guests during the stay. use; both the full teak version and the alu-teak version are suitable for use in marine areas and on boats.
All the components are in solid teak, i.e. they are shaped from a single piece of wood and not from glued strips; this makes the products more reliable, of greater value and justifies their price/quality level.
Twins is a complete collection that erases the boundaries between exterior and interior and offers dining seats with and without armrests, lounge chairs, sofas and tables, as well as a vast range of fabrics and upholstery with which it is possible to customize seats and backrests .

The teak is A quality, which is the second highest level after the superior level. This grade, recognized by an international measurement and certification method, is determined by the mix of color and grain that define the aesthetics of teak. The teak comes from Indonesia and is FSC certified and therefore responsibly managed. Teak is a natural material, has grains and colors that can vary from component to component. This characteristic determines its uniqueness. Teak is a wood and as such it must be treated periodically.  If it does not receive any maintenance treatment through the periodic application of common and specific oil-based protectants, the surface will take on a silver gray patina which can also be eliminated with light surface sanding and subsequent polishing with a jute cloth. Small surface stains due to oil or other food products must be removed promptly, before the wood can absorb them deeply, by sanding the affected surface and polishing with a jute cloth. When the wood gets wet for the first time it is normal for the surface to become a little rough when it dries and the initial smoothness can be restored with a light surface sanding and subsequent polishing with a jute cloth.

Designer: Sebastian Herkner (born 1981) studied Product Design at HfG Offenbach University of Art and Design. During his studies he began to dedicate himself to the design of objects and furniture, honing his keen sense towards materials, colors and textures. For a short time he worked for Stella McCartney in London. In 2006 Sebastian Herkner founded his studio and since then has designed furniture, lamps and small objects for brands such as Ames, and Tradition, Cappellini, ClassiCon, Dedon, Emu, Gubi, Linteloo, Moroso, Pulpo, Rosenthal, Schramm Werkstätten, Thonet, Wittmann and Zanotta. Herkner also deals with interior architecture, museum and exhibition projects. His works have received numerous awards, including the IF Award, the Iconic Award and the Elle Deco International Design Award (EDIDA). As Guest of Honor at Imm Cologne 2016, Sebastian Herkner was responsible for the design for “Das Haus”. In 2019 Maison&Objet elected him "Designer of the Year" and in 2020 he won the most prestigious design award in Milan: the EDIDA award as best designer of the year. His is an unconditional love for traditional craftsmanship, combined with an acute sensitivity towards new technologies and an innate talent in conceiving authentic colours, materials and textures. What characterizes him is a genuine curiosity towards different cultures, the desire to embrace and integrate them, a constant commitment and responsibility towards the things and people he works with, not to mention the consideration and respect towards every single process necessary for the purpose to create a unique object. Since the success of the Bell Table for ClassiCon in 2012, Sebastian Herkner has never looked back, while remaining true to his words and himself. Balance and intuition are important factors that ensure continuity in his work. A work that he sees as a continuous dialogue between different disciplines and that takes him to the most remote corners of the world, in search of almost forgotten artisan techniques, crafts with a centuries-old tradition, "Sleeping Beauty" manufacturing that the designer wants to awaken from their numbness. In designing Sebastian not only designs chairs, sofas, lamps, tables, vases and carpets, but an entire cosmos through which the designer expresses the influence that his objects have on the senses, the importance of beauty cultivated already within the process itself and its empathy towards people.
