I don't believe in design I believe in ideas "Uto Balmoral is not me" Uto Balmoral is the first virtual designer, he is a character provocatively created to be himself a product, a designer's project." The idea was born from a personal reflection on the situation of contemporary design and the concept of designers as "brands".
From the awareness of the phenomenon, the character of Uto is born, with transversal intentions, who outlines his own image starting from the denial of it in a game of balance between the will/need to appear and that of hiding. Uto's research is that of a design that has expressive, metaphorical value, which triggers a process that goes beyond aesthetics and functionality as the only reasons for being.
He made his debut in 2011 with the Maybe/Forse exhibition at the DAAL Gallery in the Ventura area during the Milan Design Week, presenting the limited series collection of “Unstables” tables and the “The Putrella's Connection” family of lamps. He collaborates with Italian companies and starniere including Tonelli Design, Officinanove, D3CO, Luce 5
