Design: Konstantin Grcic

Konstantin Grcic defines function in human terms, combining formal severity with considerable intellectual acumen and a sense of humor. Each of his products is characterized by careful research into the history of design and architecture and by his passion for technology and materials.

Famous for his simple, minimalist "pared down" products, Grcic is often defined as a minimalist but he himself prefers to talk about simplicity.
Many of his products have obtained international design awards such as the prestigious Compasso d `Gold for the MAYDAY lamp (Flos) in 2001 and the MYTO chair (Plank) in 2011. Konstantin Grcic's works are part of the permanent collections of the most important museums in the world (among others: MoMA/New York, Center Georges Pompidou /Paris).
