Design: Giulio Iacchetti
GIULIO IACCHETTI, industrial designer since 1992, designs for various brands, including Abet Laminati, Alessi, Artemide, Danese, Foscarini, Magis, Moleskine. Among its distinctive characteristics is the research and definition of new object typologies such as the Moscardino, biodegradable multi-purpose cutlery, designed with Matteo Ragni for Pandora design and awarded the Compasso d'Oro in 2001. In 2009 he was awarded the Prize of Innovation Awards conferred by the President of the Italian Republic for the Eureka Coop project, with which he brought design to large-scale retail trade. In May 2009 the Milan Triennale hosted his solo exhibition entitled “Giulio Iacchetti. Disobedient objects”. Always attentive to the evolution of the relationship between artisan reality and design, in November 2012 he launched Internoitaliano, the "widespread factory" made up of many artisan workshops with which he signs and produces furnishings and accessories inspired by Italian ways of doing things and living. At the same time he carried out his personal research towards new design themes such as that of the cross from which the Cruciale exhibition was born, held at the Diocesan Museum of Milan, in the Basilica of Santo Stefano Rotondo in Rome and at the Castello di Lombardia in Enna, while with the exhibition Razione K, the soldier's meal in action, produced by the Milan Triennale in January 2015, reflects on the essentiality and planning nature of anonymous design linked to food. In 2014 he won his second Compasso d'Oro for the Sfera series of manholes, designed with Matteo Ragni for Montini.
