The Pelleossa chair is a modern and conceptual version of a classic of Italian pre-industrial design, the Chiavari chair. Its name evokes the lightness and simplicity of its slim and robust structure. Presented in a first version in 2013, it has now been revisited using river straw, weaving it with a checkered weave that guarantees sturdiness and excellent weight distribution on the seat.
Pelleossa is made of flamed, black or walnut-stained oak , combined with traditional materials for the seat such as leather and river straw, and available with or without armrests.

Designer: Francesco Faccin

In 2003, after attending the European Institute of Design, he worked in Enzo Mari's studio. In the meantime he began working as an independent designer collaborating with Italian and foreign companies. Since 2004 he has been developing self-producible projects in small series. He works in close collaboration with the artisans, careful to personally control all phases of product development and being passionate about the problems of the project, in particular those that refer to wood and craftsmanship. In the same years he worked and collaborated with the model maker and luthier Francesco Rivolta. In 2007 he participated for the first time in the SaloneSatellite with the “Quadrato” table which went into production and was selected for the permanent collection of Cosmit. In 2009 he met Michele De Lucchi with whom he began an ongoing collaboration. In 2010 he participated in the SaloneSatellite for the second time and together with Alvaro Catalan de Ocòn won the Design Report Award 2010. Since 2010 he has been a professor of Industrial design at the NABA in Milan with a Product Design course entitled "Projects not Objects". In 2012 he was invited by the NGO "Liveinslums" to design the furnishings of the "why not academy" in Nairobi. In 2012 he designed the interiors of the "28 Posti" restaurant in Milan, creating the furnishings with the inmates of the Bollate prison in Milan, in a laboratory established for this project and still functioning today. In 2013 he was invited, as an "Affiliated Fellow" to spend 4 months at the prestigious American Academy in Rome, where he carried out research aimed at creating a mapping of the productive-artisan fabric of the historic center of Rome. Also in 2013 he presented at the Triennale a collection of objects selected from the slums of Nairobi, made with urban waste but with the typical logic of serial production; The exhibition is entitled “Made in slums”, curated by Fulvio Irace. He collaborates with Italian and foreign companies and NGOs such as Tod's, Saeco, Danese, Miniforms, Bolia, Valsecchi1918, Officinanove, Liveinslums as well as constantly carrying out research through small series works. His work has been published in the most important national and international magazines (Domus, Interni, Abitare, Intramuros, Wallpaper, Details, Inventario, Design Report, Monocle, Elle Decor).
