The Lyze chair by Emu is a combination of elegance and resistance, perfect for enriching outdoor spaces with style and functionality. Characterized by a modern and linear design, this chair adapts harmoniously to a variety of environments, both domestic and commercial. It was born from Florent Coirier's idea of combining the high quality aluminum of the seat with the backrest made of steel rods, a combination that offers exceptional sturdiness and durability over time. In this even more sophisticated version, the aluminum seat is replaced by a comfortable teak seat, with soft and smooth contours.
Its lightweight design makes it easy to move and position as needed, while the sophisticated finish adds a touch of elegance. The Lyze chair is available in a range of colors and finishes, allowing you to personalize outdoor spaces with a distinctive and contemporary style.

USE AND MAINTENANCE span>
To keep the product in good condition for a long time, we recommend correct periodic cleaning, particularly frequent in locations characterized by high humidity and marine climate. It is recommended to clean the surfaces with a soft cloth using water or neutral detergents. Prolonged and uninterrupted exposure to intense UV radiation or very cold temperatures can affect the initial characteristics of the colored aesthetic covering made of polyester. We recommend cleaning and storing the products in sheltered places during periods of prolonged disuse and in winter.

Teak
Traditional wood Used in outdoor furniture with a timeless exotic charm, teak is a hardwood with a high oil content suitable for outdoor use without the need for painting treatment. If it does not receive any protective treatment, the surface will take on a silver gray patina, a natural protection of the internal part of the wood, considered an essential element of the charm of teak. The teak used for EMU products is FSC® certified.
USE AND MAINTENANCE
Since it is a natural material, color variations may be observed between one product and another or between components of the same product. Furthermore, in case of sudden changes in temperature and depending on the humidity level, cracks may also occur. If not subjected to any maintenance treatment through the periodic application of common and specific oil-based protectants, the surface will take on a silver gray patina which can also be eliminated with light surface sanding and subsequent polishing with a jute cloth. Small surface stains due to oil or other food products must be removed promptly, before the wood can absorb them deeply, by sanding the affected surface and polishing with a jute cloth. Stains from coffee, juices, natural drinks, without added preservatives, can be promptly removed with water and a soft cloth. When the wood gets wet for the first time it is normal for the surface to become a little rough and, once dry, the initial smoothness can be restored with a light surface sanding and subsequent polishing with a jute cloth. Teak is a natural material that absorbs water and is rich in oils. As time passes, these oils, by a natural process, rise to the surface and can stain any cushions that have been used. Stains on cushions can be removed using soap and water.
Designer: Florent Coirier
Born in Nantes in 1983, lives and works in Paris. After graduating in design from ENSAAMA Olivier de Serres spent three years in England to specialize and obtained a Bachelor of Design and a Masters from the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design / BIAD-BCU, where he graduated with honors in 2005. He returned in France where he collaborated with numerous large design agencies, within which he learned pure lines. He currently works as a freelance designer in his studio near Montmartre.
Florent Coirier designs simple products with a strong semantic but always practical and functional. From lighting to furniture, to small objects, the studio develops products based on a deep knowledge of industrial processes. Each project is developed in close collaboration with the manufacturers. Florent Coirier aims to create timeless designs, most of which seem simple at first glance, but with specific details that make them unique and well thought-out objects. “We believe in the object that has meaning and that gives meaning to everyday life.”
Formal research through materials and technologies is fundamental to the project design process . The goal is to design products that are increasingly respectful of our environment and our future way of life.
Today it collaborates with international companies such as Ligne Roset (FR), Habitat (FR), Modular Lighting System (BE), among others.
