The Tami armchair is part of a seating system designed by Patrick Norguet. It has a basic structure made with two special profiles in 6060 aluminum alloy and details in AISI316 stainless steel. The special profiles allow the slats of the support surface to be mounted with an interlocking system.
You can choose between bamboo or WPC slats, a composite of wood and recycled bamboo fibres; an eco-sustainable material, resistant to water, atmospheric and bacterial agents, easy to clean and 100% recyclable.
The armrests and backrests, made with D28 tubulars and 30x8 plates in 6060 aluminum alloy, are assembled using special molded nylon details.
The TAMI collection includes: armchair structure, 2-seater sofa, 3-seater sofa, corner structure, low table in 2 versions. It is possible to configure each element according to our needs and tastes. The range of fabrics is very rich: ranging from Basic to Premium fabrics but all of the highest quality and beauty.
Aluminum structure with WPC or bamboo slats
Aluminium
Aluminum alloys, particularly suitable for cold working and die casting, appropriately treated to resist atmospheric agents and powder coated.
USE AND MAINTENANCE: To keep the product in good condition for a long time, we recommend correct periodic cleaning, particularly frequent in locations characterized by high humidity and a marine climate. It is recommended to clean the surfaces with a soft cloth using water or neutral detergents. Prolonged and uninterrupted exposure to intense UV radiation or very cold temperatures can affect the initial characteristics of the colored aesthetic covering made of polyester. We recommend cleaning and storing the products in sheltered places during periods of prolonged disuse and in winter.
WPC is a composite material made up of wood fibers and HDPE. The semi-finished products are obtained through extrusion of the composite. It is a material resistant to UV rays, atmospheric agents and humidity. WPC does not splinter and is not damaged by bacteria or insects. It is an easy-to-maintain material. It must not be protected by painting.
USE AND MAINTENANCE: For optimal maintenance in an outdoor environment we recommend cleaning the product periodically:
– for dust and debris: use a vacuum cleaner to remove dirt and debris;
– for dirty stains: clean with a laundry brush using neutral soap and warm water;
– for oil stains: blot promptly with absorbent paper and clean the area with warm water and neutral soap.
It is recommended not to use pressure washers which could damage the product. It is recommended not to use bleach or chlorine-based detergents. Do not use strongly acidic or strongly alkaline detergents. Use neutral detergents, preferably diluted in water.
Bamboo is a plant that grows rapidly and is harvested without causing deforestation. After harvesting, the outermost layer is removed and the bamboo slats are modified with a special heat treatment process at 200°C. This processing increases the stability of the material, ensures protection against fungi and guarantees the highest possible durability class. After the heat compression process, bamboo fibers are stronger and harder than any existing wood species. With this particular process a massive, high-density board is obtained which is resistant to atmospheric agents.
USE AND MAINTENANCE: Since it is an untreated natural material, it can be stained and exposed to the outside, it can be oxidised and therefore tending towards grey. To reduce the 2 effects mentioned, we recommend applying oil at least once a year. Precisely due to the fact that it is a natural product, removing stains once they have penetrated is not feasible; treating the surface before using the materials would minimally increase the possibility of intervention for removal before absorption. While for ordinary cleaning and surface sanitization it is sufficient to use water and neutral detergents.
CUSHIONS: All fabrics may show slightly different shades as they come from different production batches or have different exposure to light. This aspect should not be considered a defect but a characteristic of the product. EMU uses the most advanced technologies in the textile sector to create outdoor furniture. The materials are resistant to splashes of water, UV rays, salt and sweat, without losing their structural and comfort characteristics.
It is advisable, after the rain, to dry the furnishings with fabrics in order to prevent the formation of damp stains and mould. To improve the longevity of the products, EMU recommends storing them, in the event of prolonged periods of non-use (e.g. autumn/winter) or incessant rain, in a closed, ventilated and dry place, covering them with sheets to keep them at their best and protect them from dust and dirt. Before storing them, make sure they are perfectly dry. The covers/coverings are recommended for outdoor use but for short periods. The covers are not to be considered an alternative to winter storage of the products. In case of rain, always check that no humidity forms between the lining and the products in order to prevent any mold as, as the fabrics are textile products, the presence of residual humidity is possible and can cause mould.
All materials meet the most rigorous quality standards for outdoor use and the fabrics are quick-drying and easy to maintain. Avoid prolonged contact with greasy and/or coloring substances which could be absorbed by the covering material and give rise to permanent stains, as well as deteriorating the structure of the yarn. If used near the sea or swimming pools, periodic washing is recommended. Frequent washing: follow the specific instructions for each material shown on the appropriate label. Use water and non-abrasive liquid detergents with neutral PH and colorless. If necessary, leave the detergent to act for a few minutes. Rinse thoroughly with water at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. If using pressure devices, keep the tip of the diffuser at a distance of at least 60/70 cm from the surface of the product. If necessary repeat the operation. Do not use abrasive sponges to remove stains and do not treat with bleach or chlorine.
Designer: PATRICK NORGUET
P. N. approaches objects and design from a graphic perspective. The unusual profile of this constructive rebel starts from a practical approach to studies in industrial design in Paris (ESDI).
His career took a sudden turn in 2000, when Giulio Cappellini noticed his now famous Rainbow Chair . He became part of the group of designers who gave life and created his Parisian studio. Since then, he has worked for the largest manufacturers (Tacchini, Kristalia, Cassina, Alia, Tolix...) and for the most renowned brands.
For Patrick Norguet, design is above all a question of happy encounters. The thing that excites him most is the exchange with producers, the discovery of their knowledge; the impulse of a creative intent refined by technical limits, economic constraints and the expectations of users that he hopes to convince, in a discreet yet lasting way.
Allowing himself to be inspired by everything that surrounds him, Patrick Norguet does not follow trends but seeks to give shape to products whose relevance and modernity are able to stand the test of time: “A well-designed object, created through generous collaboration, is a timeless object”.
From consumer products to luxury objects, Patrick Norguet leaves a mark of authenticity and elegance on each of them. Today, he is a figure of primary importance on the international design scene.
